Acetic Acid is a colourless liquid that has a characteristic pungent odour and boils at 118°C. Although not glacial (100%) it is entirely miscible with water in all proportions and forms a working strength solution at 3%.

With a formula of CH3CO2H; it is a weak organic carboxylic acid and solidifies at about 17°C to a crystalline mass resembling ice. If frozen, turn the bottle from the top downwards.

Used to make stop baths, acidifying, fixers, intensifiers and toners. It is also useful as a post-alkali toning rinse bath to remove scum.

Elizabeth ★★★★★

The pungent odor hits you right away, which is exactly what I wanted for my stop bath dilution. Mixed perfectly with water at 1:20 and the 1L bottle lasted through a solid weekend of developing.

Timothy ★★★★★

Was pleasantly surprised how well this mixes with water for a stop bath — no clouding at all. The 80% concentration is perfect for my film developing workflow.

Richard K. ★★★★★

The boiling point at 118°C is spot on for my stop bath needs, and it dilutes perfectly with water without any layering issues. A full liter goes a long way for tray processing, and the clarity is exactly what I expect from a fresh batch.
