The Printmaker 67XL VC is an extra Large version of the 67VC model but with a higher column (1.28 metres) and a bigger baseboard that allows up to 16 x 20-inch enlargements. It will also allow you enlargements from any size of negative from 35mm through to 6x7cm. It also offers improved image size adjustment is by means of a silky smooth crank-operated rack and pinion elevation system that includes a lock.

The 67VC enlargers can accommodate 35mm, 6x4.5cm, 6x6cm, 6x7cm and 35mm 2”x2” mounted slides WITH the appropriate negative carriers for each desired film format.  Each different negative size requires its own carrier.

The 35mm negative carrier is included in the 50mm lens kit, but 50mm enlarging lenses only work for 35mm film format.

The light source is identical and includes the same method of contrast and constant exposure. The head is slightly different though (being larger in size). You cannot project on to the floor but it will swivel 90 degrees to allow wall projection. This is a solid enlarger built to withstand heavy usage and is thoroughly recommended for educational use.

Standard equipment includes a 35mm negative carrier, filter drawer for 3 inch (89mm) variable contrast filters and high-quality optical glass condenser included. It takes normal 85w watt halogen bulbs and although made in the USA it uses European 230/240v output electrics and come with fitted 3 pin UK plug.

Please note:

For packaging, the carriage is turned upward to better fit the carton and protect it. If you place the black lever in the centre (projection pivot locking lever #16 on page 1 of the manual), this unlocks the carriage, and you can then rotate it 180° so it is facing downward in the proper direction. The bellows face downward. This enlarger has a swivel base. Once it's vertical, that lever can be pushed to either side to lock in place.

Finally got the 67XL set up in the darkroom and the extra-tall column means I'm not hunched over when making 16x20s. The 50mm lens is tack sharp at the apertures I actually use, and the baseboard is big enough that I don't have to fiddle with paper alignment. It's a solid workhorse that makes printi

The extra-tall column makes a real difference—I can finally do 16x20 prints without craning or bending over the baseboard. The 50mm lens is sharp edge to edge, and setup took under an hour even for a first-timer like me.

Finally got the 16x20 prints I'd been chasing for months, and the 1.28-meter column makes even head-height enlargements feel rock solid. The 50mm lens renders crisp grain right to the edges, and setting up the VC head for split-grade work was way more intuitive than my old setup.
