If you have to buy a new lens you may find that your old filters don?t fit the new filter size. Buying a stepping ring from Hoya can extend the life of old filters.

Step-up rings allow you to use a filter which has a larger thread than the lens. More common are step-down rings, which allow you to use a filter which is smaller than the lens thread. In either case, when ordering please quote the lens thread size first.

Maximum step size is 72mm. Take care not to use too small a filter as vignetting arises - especially with fast lenses.

Jacob L. ★★★★★

Works perfectly to attach my 67mm polarizer onto a 62mm lens. The threads are smooth and it screws on without any wobble. Really glad I found this simple solution instead of replacing all my old filters.

Andrew C. ★★★★★

Saved my old 67mm filters from being retired when I switched to a 62mm lens—no more buying duplicates. The threading is smooth and it tightens securely without any wobble, so swapping filters mid-shoot is a breeze.

Henry T. ★★★★★

Threaded smoothly onto my lens and the 67mm side held my circular polarizer without any wobble. The metal feels sturdy enough for regular use.
