The A1/231 is our most popular replacement enlarger lamp for colour or Multigrade-type enlargers (those that use filter wheels for adjusting colour filtration or for setting paper grades).

If your enlarger uses a transformer, to convert the power down to 12 volts, the chances are that the lamp inside is an A1/231.

These are some of the many enlargers that take the A1/231 lamp:

LPL - 6700/7700 models

Kaiser - VC/VCP 6005/7005/9005 model

Durst - M370/670 VC and Colour models

Meopta - Axomat/Opemus VC and Colour models

Please not if you enlarger does not have a transformer (e.g. black and white filter tray model, the enlarger will probably take a P3/3ES lamp.

The A1/231 also fits many old Super 8 colour cine projectors.

Timothy W. ★★★★★

I was glad to find this replacement bulb with the exact 12V/100W rating my enlarger needed, and it fits perfectly in the filter wheel housing. The print quality is consistent and sharp right from the first exposure.

Sophia V. ★★★★★

Finally, an enlarger bulb that actually fits my filter wheel without needing an adapter—plugged right in and the color filtration is bang on now. No more guessing with paper grades, this 12V/100W lamp delivers consistent, even light across my prints.

Daniel ★★★★★

I was worried I'd bought the wrong voltage, but this 12V/100W bulb fit my filter-wheel enlarger perfectly. The light output is consistent and bright—no flickering at all during exposures.
