Negative Supply Basic 4x5 Sheet Film Scanning Kit (Acrylic)

The Negative Supply Basic 4x5 Sheet Film Scanning Kit (Acrylic) is a simple and effective solution for digitising large format film using a camera scanning setup. Designed to replace slower flatbed workflows and expensive drum scanning, it offers a fast, accessible way to capture sharp, high-quality scans with full border detail.

System Compatibility Notes

This kit is designed to work with Negative Supply light sources including the 4x5 Light Source Basic, Basic MK2, and 4x5 Light Source Pro. It includes an adapter for mounting directly to compatible light sources and can also be used with the Pro Mount MK2 depending on your setup. A light source is required and not included. The holder can also be adapted for scanning short strips or single frames of 35mm and 120 film with custom masking.

Why We Like It

This version uses micro-etched acrylic instead of ANR glass, making it lighter, more durable, and easier to handle in day-to-day use. It still delivers excellent film flatness and consistent results, while being a more forgiving option if you are working in a busy environment or packing your setup away regularly. For many users, this strikes the best balance between performance, practicality, and cost.

I love how the acrylic holder keeps my 4x5 sheets perfectly flat during scanning, no more frustrating curve issues. The raised edges make it super easy to slide the film into place without worrying about scratches. This has been a game changer for getting sharp, dust-free scans of my large format ne

Daniel Z. ★★★★★

The acrylic is much sturdier than I expected for the price, keeping my 4x5 sheets perfectly flat during scanning. Setup took maybe two minutes, and the clarity on the resulting files is a noticeable improvement over my old makeshift rig.

Natalie H. ★★★★★

Finally, a way to scan my 4x5 sheets that doesn’t involve fiddly tape or glass holders. The acrylic build feels sturdy and the slots hold the film perfectly flat, making dust spots much easier to manage.
