Whether you decide to process your own black and white or colour films you will need some kind of developing tank. This is the simplest of all home processing techniques. We sell a wide range of plastic developing tanks and plastic or stainless steel reels, which are less prone to developer staining. We even sell complete Beginner Film Processing Kits to get you started.

You can only get a good print by starting with a good negative so take care when film processing to maintain temperature during development, especially for colour work. If you do make a mistake in processing, you might be able to rescue the work by using an intensifier or reducer, but you should start from the outset with the view that you will only get one chance to produce good negatives.

All multi Reel tanks come without reels.

Each tank processes the number of 35mm films designated in its heading e.g. 3, 5 or 8.

Madison ★★★★★

The reels load film so smoothly after a bit of practice, and the wide mouth makes pouring chemicals in and out a breeze without any spills. I can finally develop my rolls at home without the hassle I expected from a plastic tank.

Robert N. ★★★★★

The two-reel design lets me process both my 35mm rolls at once, which has cut my developing time in half. Loading the film onto the spirals was surprisingly easy for a first-timer.

James ★★★★★

I've been using this for my first home developing session and the three reels let me process all my rolls at once, which saved me a ton of time. The plastic feels sturdy and the pour spout didn't leak a drop during the whole agitation process.
