Whether you decide to process your own black and white or colour films you will need some kind of developing tank. This is the simplest of all home processing techniques. We sell a wide range of plastic developing tanks and plastic or stainless steel reels, which are less prone to developer staining. We even sell complete Beginner Film Processing Kits to get you started.

You can only get a good print by starting with a good negative so take care when film processing to maintain temperature during development, especially for colour work. If you do make a mistake in processing, you might be able to rescue the work by using an intensifier or reducer, but you should start from the outset with the view that you will only get one chance to produce good negatives.

All multi Reel tanks come without reels.

Each tank processes the number of 35mm films designated in its heading e.g. 3, 5 or 8.

Matthew ★★★★★

Loading two rolls at once was surprisingly easy once I got the hang of the spool—the ratchet mechanism makes sure the film stays on track. No light leaks at all, and it cleans up quickly after use.

Brian X. ★★★★★

I was a bit nervous about loading multiple reels for the first time, but the spiral loading guide made it surprisingly easy to get eight 35mm rolls loaded without any kinks. The plastic feels sturdy enough to handle regular use, and the tank holds just the right amount of chemistry for an efficient

Charlotte K. ★★★★★

The light-tight lid twists on and off without any fuss, and loading the reels onto the central spindle feels rock-solid even when wet. I processed three 35mm rolls in one session and the chemistry flowed evenly with no streaks on the negatives.
