Rollei RPX 100 - 120

Rollei RPX 100 is a traditional medium-speed panchromatic black and white negative film with fine grain, high sharpness and a wide tonal range. In 120 format, it gives medium format photographers beautifully detailed negatives with rich tones, strong shadow detail and excellent enlargement potential.

With a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100, RPX 100 is a versatile choice for bright light, controlled lighting and tripod-based work. It is especially well suited to landscapes, portraits, architecture, still life and product photography, where its fine grain and high resolving power can be used to full effect.

Why We Like It

RPX 100 in 120 format is a lovely balance of flexibility and image quality. It has enough speed for general daylight use, while the medium format negative really shows off its fine grain, sharpness and rich tonal range.

Sebastian ★★★★★

The tonal range on this 120 roll is honestly gorgeous—mid-greys just glide from shadows to highlights without any harsh jumps. Grain stays tight and fine even when I push the development a bit, and sharpness holds up beautifully in the negatives I scanned.

Scarlett B. ★★★★★

I’ve shot a lot of roll film, and the tonal range on this one is genuinely impressive—highlights roll off smoothly without blocking up, even in harsh midday sun. It’s become my go-to for medium format portraits, sharp where it needs to be but with enough forgiveness in the shadows.

Violet ★★★★★

Finally got around to developing a roll from my Mamiya and the fine grain really impressed me, especially in the mid-tones. The wide tonal range handled a tricky bright sky and dark foliage scene beautifully.
