Category: Film & Film Processing Black & White Film

ILFORD FP4 Plus is an exceptionally fine grain, medium speed black and white film. It is ideal for high quality indoor and outdoor photography, particularly when giant enlargements are to be made. It is suited to general photography, copying and internegative work and has many applications in scientific, technical and industrial photography. FP 4 is a forgiving film that will give usable results even if it is overexposed by as much as six stops or underexposed by two stops. It will even tolerate less than ideal processing conditions.

Ryan Y. ★★★★★

Pushed the shadow detail more than I expected with a single outdoor exposure, and the grain practically disappears in the 16x20 print. Perfect for when you want that sharp, classic look without digital harshness.

Riley B. ★★★★★

I've been using this film for portrait work and the tonality in the midtones is incredibly smooth. The 120 format gives me plenty of detail to work with when I'm scanning for large prints.

Nicholas I. ★★★★★

The grain is so tight that even when I blow up a 6x6 negative to 16x20, the detail stays sharp and smooth. Perfect for portrait work where I want clean midtones without distracting texture.
