ILFORD FP4 Plus is an exceptionally fine grain, medium speed black and white film. It is ideal for high quality indoor and outdoor photography, particularly when giant enlargements are to be made. It is suited to general photography, copying and internegative work and has many applications in scientific, technical and industrial photography. FP 4 is a forgiving film that will give usable results even if it is overexposed by as much as six stops or underexposed by two stops. It will even tolerate less than ideal processing conditions.

Joshua Q. ★★★★★

I’ve been shooting this in my old SLR for portraits and landscapes, and the mid-speed 125 ISO handles overcast light beautifully without getting too grainy. The tonal range in the shadows feels really rich for a medium-speed film.

Madison V. ★★★★★

The grain on this stuff is so fine that even my sloppy handheld shots at f/8 hold up beautifully when I scan them at full res. It’s become my go-to for portraits on overcast days, and the tonal range just feels creamy without being flat.

Brian ★★★★★

Switching to this from a faster film really opened up my outdoor shots — the contrast is beautiful without being harsh. I've already made a couple of 11x14 enlargements and the grain stays almost invisible even at that size.
