For over 50 years, Kodak TRI-X has been of one of the best-loved monochrome films of all time.

It remains Kodak's best-selling black-and-white film. Sebastiao Salgado, Alfred Eisenstadt, Henri Cartier-Bresson and John Sexton have all produced magnificent images using this film during the this time.

It offers an incredible tonal range, wide exposure and distinctive grain structure and just like Ilford's HP5 Plus, is a medium speed black and white film that can be pushed to ISO 3200 making it a great low-light film and definitely one for typical British winter days out.

Leo ★★★★★

The grain structure is just gorgeous when pushed to 1600—gives portraits that gritty, classic newsprint feel. Shot a whole street session in low light and every frame held detail in the shadows. Definitely my go-to for that timeless look.

Jacob R. ★★★★★

Finally got to shoot a roll of this legendary film and the grain structure is exactly what I was hoping for—gritty but not overpowering. Pushed it to 1600 for some indoor street shots and the contrast held up beautifully.

Brian ★★★★★

The grain is just right—classic and sharp without being distracting. I loaded this up for a street photography session and the contrast came out beautifully. It's exactly why this film has lasted over 50 years.
